Gleematic team won first prize for the Smart Port Challenge 2017, organised by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and supported by TNB Ventures and Singapore Shipping Association. We were among the 12 finalists, which were shortlisted from more than 80 entries.
Dr Lam Pin Min, Senior Minister of State in the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Transport, was the Guest of Honour for the Demo Day (28 Sep 2017) when all the 12 finalists presented their ideas to the judges.
Our team used the Gleematic software to tackle the challenge of helping ships meet regulatory clearance, set by MPA and NYK Line & Symphony Creative Solutions. We built small proof-of-concept projects to show how Gleematic can take data from documents (including scanned copies of certificates) to enter into respective forms for getting regulators’ clearance for ships to enter the port. We met with challenge-owners over the course of two months to understand their requirements and co-build the PoC.
We intend to apply for MPA’s grant to take our PoC further to expand into full-scale projects.
