2024 has been a year of remarkable growth and innovation for us, indeed. However, as 2024 draws to a close, we continuously keep pushing the boundaries of innovation and be open to all possibilities!
Starting the December with an exciting news – we got shortlisted as one of the finalists for Indonesia-Japan Fast Track Pitch Programme! This achievement is another milestone for us, another stepping stone in our vision of empowering people with automation! And, of course, in addressing real-world challenges and inventing a solution that leverages on the latest trend of technologies.
The Indonesia-Japan Fast Track Pitch program is a platform that connects leading companies from both nations with promising startups, SMEs, and university labs. By presenting challenging problem statements, these companies seek innovative solutions to drive growth and efficiency. We are honoured to be among the finalists and excited to showcase our capabilities on this global stage.
Indonesia-Japan Fast Track Pitch Programme
The Indonesia-Japan Fast Track Pitch Programme serves as a bridge to connect innovative companies with business opportunities in Indonesia and Japan. During this event, challenge statements are presented by prominent companies, inviting solutions from visionary startups and SMEs. The selected finalists have the unique opportunity to pitch their solutions directly to the challenge owners, making this event a significant milestone for innovative solution providers.
The Indonesia-Japan Fast Track Pitch Programme is an initiative aimed at fostering open innovation and collaboration between startups and large corporations from Indonesia and Japan. Organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in partnership with the Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI), and the Embassy of Japan in Indonesia, the event also involves the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs. This program is part of the ASEAN-Japan Co-Creation Fast Track Initiative, launched to celebrate 50 years of ASEAN-Japan cooperation and support innovation-driven economic growth in the region.
The program is designed to address the challenges faced by startups in scaling their businesses and accessing collaboration opportunities with established companies. It features pitch sessions where startups present innovative solutions to problems identified by “challenge owners,” which include major corporations from Indonesia and Japan across various sectors such as finance, logistics, and healthcare.
The ultimate goal of the program is to create synergies that drive economic development and technological advancement by leveraging the strengths of startups and corporations.
Addressing Challenges from BNI (Bank Negara Indonesia)
We submitted proposals for few challenge owners, and got shortlisted for a challenge under BNI. To see the full challenge from another challenge owners, click here.
The challenge statement presented by Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) centers around optimizing efficiency and reducing manual processes across three crucial operational areas:
#1. Payment Monitoring
The first focus is Payment Monitoring, where activities such as tracking payment schedules and ensuring adherence to agreements remain largely manual. This creates inefficiencies and increases the likelihood of errors, leading to potential delays and compliance risks. An automated system for payment tracking could bring transparency, ensure timeliness, and enhance operational reliability.
#2. Automated Report Generation
This highlights the challenges of compiling reports from various internal systems and external data sources. Currently, this process is labor-intensive and time-consuming, making it difficult to produce timely and accurate insights. A solution that can integrate and process data in real time would significantly improve decision-making processes.
#3. ESG Activity Tracking
The third area focuses on ESG Activity Tracking, which is essential for BNI’s sustainability goals. Monitoring and consolidating Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics require advanced tools capable of providing real-time updates and ensuring alignment with both corporate strategies and regulatory standards.
BNI is actively seeking innovative platforms to address these challenges through collaboration with startups. By partnering with BNI, startups not only contribute to solving critical operational issues but also gain access to a vast network of industry connections, robust technological infrastructure, and the bank’s strong brand reputation. This collaboration enables startups to scale their solutions efficiently while gaining credibility and exploring opportunities for market expansion. For BNI, these partnerships bring cutting-edge innovation, helping the bank stay at the forefront of digital transformation while fostering a culture of sustainability and efficiency.
How Gleematic Can Become the Solution for BNI?
We introduced our Autonomous Automation software, Gleematic, to address the challenges from BNI. Combining Robotic Process Automation (RPA) with AI-driven tools such as Machine Learning, Gleematic positions as a versatile tool to automate manual processes, thus enhancing operational efficiency, and improving decision-making.
Here’s how Gleematic can help BNI:
#1. Automate Payments Monitoring and Processing
Gleematic can automate the tracking of payment schedules by integrating with BNI’s internal systems and external data sources, as well as ensuring accuracy by cross-checking schedules against contract terms. Through intelligent bots, the platform can automatically monitor due dates, send reminders, and flag discrepancies, ensuring payments are processed accurately and on time. Gleematic’s predictive capabilities can help forecast potential payment delays and suggest corrective actions, reducing risks and improving cash flow management.
#2. Automate Reports Generation
Gleematic can pull and analyze data from both internal and external sources. The AI consolidates this information into predefined templates to create comprehensive reports on financial, operational, or compliance metrics. By automating this traditionally time-intensive task, Gleematic allows teams to focus on strategic activities while ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
#3. ESG Activity Tracking
Gleematic facilitates the consolidation and analysis of ESG metrics from various systems and databases. The platform generates real-time insights and alerts on compliance, sustainability goals, and risk indicators, enabling BNI to maintain alignment with sustainability objectives. By integrating disparate data streams, Gleematic provides a unified view of payment statuses, ESG compliance, and other key metrics. This capability supports informed decision-making and ensures that BNI remains competitive while meeting regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
Finalists Pitch Event Day
All finalists from all challenge owners gathered to the pitch event day in Jakarta, 5 December 2024 taking place at the Fairmont Hotel Jakarta. These finalists, including us, were selected from the overall submissions. The finalists should present on-stage their innovative solutions that can address the challenges proposed by their respective challenge owner.
Gleematic was selected as finalist with another 3 companies, under the challenge from BNI. There are also finalists from another challenge owners, resulting in total of 17 finalists to present on-stage. To see the full list of finalist and their respective challenge owners, please see here.
Our team was represented by Benarivo Abdullah, our Country Manager for Indonesia. As the face of our team at the event, Benarivo showcased the cutting-edge capabilities of Gleematic Autonomous Automation, highlighting how it aligns seamlessly with the challenges presented by BNI.
Throughout the event, there was also a networking session where we can engage with potential partners, and exploring collaborative opportunities with both Japanese and Indonesian stakeholders to foster partnerships and exchange ideas. This collaborative approach aims to bridge the gap between startups and corporates, enabling co-creation of new solutions and supporting regional innovation ecosystems
This event was more than just a pitch—it was an opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, share insights, and explore partnerships. The networking sessions provided a fertile ground for connecting with industry leaders, fellow innovators, and stakeholders from Indonesia and Japan. Such interactions not only reinforced our commitment to creating impactful solutions but also expanded our horizons for future collaborations.
A Step Towards Innovation and Collaboration
Being a finalist in this innovation pitch programme marked a milestone in our journey toward innovation and collaboration.
Participating in this global initiative underscored our commitment to leveraging technology for transformative impact. As we continue to innovate and adapt, the insights and experiences gained from this event will undoubtedly shape our future strategies, propelling us further in our mission to empower businesses through intelligent automation.
