How can an AI Avatar Virtual Assistant transform the future of insurance?
That is exactly what we showcased at InsurTech Showcase IIC Asia 2025!
InsurTech Showcase IIC Asia 2025 concluded this week as part of the larger InsurInnovator Connect Asia 2025 (IIC Asia). This event drew together leading insurers, technology innovators, and investors at Suntec Singapore. Over two days (24-25 September 2025), the event spotlighted emerging solutions and bold ideas aimed at redefining insurance operations and customer engagement in an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
InsurInnovator Connect Asia 2025: Driving the Future of Insurance Through Innovation
InsurInnovator Connect Asia 2025 (IIC Asia) convened in Singapore on September 24–25, bringing together more than 1,500 senior insurance executives, technology leaders, and innovators from across the region. Organized by SZ&W Group, the event has grown into Asia’s premier platform for insurance innovation, with forums spanning leadership, bancassurance, distribution, underwriting, reinsurance, fraud, claims, and health and auto insurance.
Under the official theme “Connect Asia, Innovate Insurance”, IIC Asia 2025 aimed to foster deeper collaboration across markets and sectors, accelerate the adoption of digital and AI-driven technologies, and address local and regional challenges such as protection gaps, climate risk, cyber threats, and legacy modernization. The event’s stated objective: to serve as the convergence point for insurance incumbents, startups, and investors seeking real, deployable innovation in Asia’s diverse markets.
At the heart of this year’s gathering was the InsurTech Showcase, a dedicated platform for startups and solution providers to pitch and demonstrate technologies reshaping the industry. From AI and blockchain to telematics and digital servicing tools, the showcase offered a glimpse into how emerging solutions can address pressing challenges such as natural catastrophe risks, cyber threats, and widening protection gaps.
Showcasing GIA: The AI Avatar Virtual Assistant for Insurance
At InsurTech Showcase IIC Asia 2025, we placed the spotlight on Gia, our AI Avatar Virtual Assistant that can streamline insurance operations in engaging with customers. We showcased how GIA can serve as a next-generation digital frontliner, engaging customers through natural, human-like conversations while simplifying complex insurance processes.
We believe that AI Avatar Virtual Assistants represent a crucial step forward for insurance companies. Prospective policyholders are often overwhelmed by complicated jargon, lengthy policy documents, and an abundance of options. This confusion can delay decisions or push customers away entirely. At the same time, insurers face mounting pressure to provide consistent, round-the-clock service and personalized guidance at scale — a challenge that traditional call centers or FAQ systems cannot fully meet.
Gia was built to bridge this gap. By combining advanced natural language processing with a relatable, interactive avatar interface, GIA can:
- Explain insurance products in simple, clear terms
- Offer tailored advice based on customer needs and context
- Provide solutions to real-life scenarios, making policies more relatable
- Compare policy options, highlighting pros and cons in plain language
- Recommend the most suitable coverage for each customer
Through these capabilities, Gia enables insurers to engage customers more effectively, convert hesitant shoppers into confident buyers, and ultimately increase policy sales. Beyond driving conversions, the assistant also builds trust and loyalty by delivering transparency and clarity, two qualities that are often lacking in traditional insurance interactions.
With Gia, Gleematic is demonstrating how insurers can move beyond conventional customer support and embrace a smarter, more interactive model of engagement. Available all time, the AI assistant not only reduces the burden on human agents but also boosts profitability by automating support and guiding customers seamlessly through the buying journey.
Showcasing AI Agents to Streamline Insurance Operations
Another highlight at our booth was the live demonstration of our Gleematic AI Agents, designed to streamline and automate complex operations. Throughout the exhibition, many visitors — from insurers to technology partners — stopped by to see firsthand how these agents can transform back-office workflows and customer-facing processes. Our team conducted interactive demos, showing how AI Agents can take on tasks that once required significant manual effort.
The use cases resonated strongly with attendees, as we demonstrated how our AI Agents can automate claims processing, verifying documentation, and routing claims efficiently; support underwriting through automated data gathering, risk profiling, and decision recommendations; assist customer service with instant responses to policy queries while freeing human agents to focus on complex cases; detect and flag potential fraud by analyzing patterns in claims data; and coordinate workflows across departments to ensure seamless information flow between sales, underwriting, and claims teams.
By demonstrating these real-world scenarios live, Gleematic highlighted how insurers can achieve faster turnaround times, reduce operational costs, and improve accuracy — all without sacrificing compliance or oversight. Attendees noted how such automation not only improves efficiency but also frees up human employees to focus on higher-value, customer-centric tasks.
The strong interest at the booth underscored the growing demand for practical AI applications in insurance. With AI Agents, Gleematic is showing that automation is no longer limited to simple repetitive tasks — it can now augment decision-making, manage complex workflows, and elevate the overall insurance experience.
Soft-Launch of “AI-Box”: On-Premise AI Hardware
We also soft-launched our AI-Box, a hardware device that allows insurers to harness the power of large language models (LLMs) securely within their own infrastructure. Unlike cloud-based solutions that require sensitive information to be transmitted externally, the AI-Box enables organizations to process data on premises, ensuring that customer information and confidential business records remain fully protected.
The AI-Box is designed to deliver the best of both worlds: the intelligence and adaptability of advanced AI models, combined with the assurance of data privacy and compliance. For insurers operating in regions with strict data governance frameworks — or in industries where trust and confidentiality are paramount — this balance is critical. Attendees at the exhibition noted that such a solution could significantly accelerate AI adoption, particularly for companies that have hesitated due to regulatory risks or cybersecurity concerns.
During the live showcase, Gleematic demonstrated how the AI-Box can be integrated into everyday insurance operations, from running conversational AI assistants to supporting automated decision-making in claims, underwriting, and customer servicing. By keeping the processing local, insurers gain more control, transparency, and reliability, while still leveraging cutting-edge AI to drive efficiency and improve customer engagement.
Pitching at “InsurTech Pitch & Win”
We also took part in “InsurTech Pitch & Win” competition. This is a dedicated pitch arena embedded within the IIC Asia exhibition floor, providing emerging technology firms a high-visibility forum to present innovations in 10-minute slots to a live audience of senior executives and investors. The competition allowed finalists to present with judges drawn from insurance firms, venture capital, and strategic partners. The goal was to spotlight the ideas and solutions most capable of reshaping insurance operations across the region.
Our CEO, Christopher Lim, presented “AI Agents to Transform Insurance Operations” on this pitch.
Streamlining Insurance Operations with AI Agents
How AI Agents can transform insurance operations end-to-end?
During his pitch, our CEO explained that insurance companies are at a turning point. Traditional rules-based automation is no longer enough to handle the growing complexity of customer demands, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. Instead, insurers must move towards AI Agents – intelligent systems powered by machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and generative AI – that can independently manage and optimize workflows.
Christopher Lim highlighted how AI Agents can tackle some of the industry’s most pressing challenges. AI Agents for Insurance can:
- Automate claims triage by quickly reviewing case details, verifying documentation, and routing claims to the right handler.
- Support underwriting processes through automated data gathering, risk profiling, and decision recommendations.
- Assist customer service with instant responses to policy queries, freeing human agents to focus on complex cases. Just like our Gia (AI Avatar Virtual Assistant) can do!
- Detect and flag potential fraud by analyzing patterns in claims data.
- Coordinate workflows across departments, ensuring information flows seamlessly between sales, underwriting, and claims teams.
From fraudulent claims detection and customer onboarding/KYC to personalized recommendations, faster risk assessment, complex underwriting, and claims processing, AI Agents promise a leap forward in both efficiency and customer experience.
By combining multiple capabilities – robotic process automation, intelligent document processing, conversational AI, and generative AI – our AI Agents empower insurance companies to engage customers better, make faster and smarter decisions, and ensure operational excellence.
