Sea Transport Ship Agency Industry Digital Plan (IDP) Forum was held on 14th November. This Sea Transport IDP is a collaboration between MPA (Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore), Infocom Media Development Authority (IMDA), Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and Skills Future Singapore (SSG).

The aim of IDP is to support the Digital SMEs Go program which aims to simplify the use of digital technology as part of the SME Go Digital Programme that makes going digital simple for SMEs. The forum was held at the Civil Service Club, Tessensohn Clubhouse, Singapore. Aside from senior personnel from shipping agencies, Shipping Industrial Digital Plan Forum was also attended by business people who wanted to gain insight into business development by utilizing digital technology.

There were also several Tech Providers who shared various information. Our Marketing and Sales Director, Ada, spoke at the forum and explained the potential of how Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation can assist ship agencies.

Some of the things that we are doing/ have done for the shipping sector include (but not limited to):

  • Extracting information from Shipping Instructions/ Bill of Lading (unstructured/ semi-structured format)
  • Monitoring latest changes for estimated time of vessel-arrivals
  • Immigration-clearance (entering crew’s data)
  • Updating vessels’ details into governments’ web portals
  • Declaring types of goods
  • Updating  information about containers (laden or empty)
  • Create booking orders

A.I. and Robotic Process Automation are fast-growing areas of technologies that companies are embracing for higher organisational effectiveness. Our product can help ship agencies become more efficient and productive. Some of our demos are as below.

SMEs such as the ship agencies can also tap on expert advice to transform their business with digital technologies. The SME Digital Tech Hub, established by IMDA and operated by the Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (ASME), is a dedicated hub that provides consultancy to SMEs with digital needs.

The digital consultancy services are provided free of charge to SMEs. Consultation sessions was held during the event, after the presentations. By participating in the Digital Plan Forum, participants can get the opportunity to consult about digital technology for their businesses for free.
